Pittsburgh Steelers Remember the Heroes of Flight 93

On November 17, 2010, Pittsburgh Steelers great Rocky Bleier led a contingent of the Black and Gold and hosted a ‘Forty for Forty‘ dinner at Heinz Field to honor the heroes of United Airlines Flight 93.

Yesterday, as part of the CBS pregame show, NFL Today aired a segment to document the Steelers’ commitment to help raise money for the Flight 93 memorial just outside of Shanksville.

You can donate to the Flight 93 Memorial Fund by clicking here. In addition, the “9/11 Never Forget” pins will once again be available for sale on August 1, 2011. To pre-order a pin today, please email flight93memorial@nationalparks.org with your name, mailing address, phone number, and the number of pins you would like to purchase. Payment is not required to pre-order pins, but will be requested to fill the order on August 1. 100% of the proceeds from the pins, sold for $10 each, are donated to construction of the Memorial.

Updated September 25, 2014: You can donate to the Flight 93 Memorial here.

Will Brinson of CBS Sports writes:

The passengers on the plane became legendary heroes, as they should have. Art Rooney, II, of the Steelers, and CBS Sports’ Bill Cowher (at the time the Pittsburgh head coach) took the team to see the family members and the Steelers team, as well as Steelers legends like Franco Harris, made a connection with the families involved. They honored the passengers by helping create a memorial in tribute to those who gave their lives to help save our country.

Congress must defend 9/11’s sacred ground and expose the Islamist imams

Office of the Honorable John Boehner
United States Congressman, 8th Congressional District (Ohio)

Office of the Honorable Mitch McConnell
United States Senator, Kentucky

Dear Congressman Boehner and Senator McConnell,

Thank you in advance for your time. I would like to ask if you will review and share with your congressional colleagues the following information which includes, but is not limited to, a collection of quotes and documented activities pertaining to a number of Islamic preachers (Imams) in America.

It is important to know that for them, being truthful to Americans would place their agenda in jeopardy; and when confronted, their strategy is to maintain that their words have been “taken out of context,” to dismiss critics as fringe groups who irrationally fear Islam, and to throw out accusations of “anti-Muslim bigotry” and “intolerance”.

They falsely play victim and have no legitimate defense; for it is their prejudices, religious intolerance, and ideological dogma that can threaten safety and civil society.

When the audience is the American public, these particular ideologists will speak of peace, dialogue and inclusiveness. When they are in front of their co-religionists, the conversation changes.
