“Move America Forward’s Melanie Morgan and I will go live on Ustream.TV and right here at MichelleMalkin.com (as well as at HotAir.com) at 4pm Eastern/1pm Pacific. (Just hit the play button on the embedded video player above when showtime arrives; if you’d like to join the live chatroom, make sure to register at UStream beforehand!) I’ll be updating this post all day as I liveblog the event from UStream’s studios. Thanks to all our fellow bloggers who’ve helped spread the word!
“You can sponsor a care package right here, with items ranging from $15.99 to $899.99. Let me know what you picked out (leave it in in comments or e-mail me) so I can keep a running tally.” [You can also leave the information in the comments here and I will add them to Michelle's site for you if you are not registered there].
I will update this post this afternoon and evening during the live broadcast.

Move America Forward’s one day care package event is very exciting and should raise a lot of funds to help support all its activities. But please do not ignore the myriad of other grass-roots, all-volunteer organizations throughout the country that have been supporting the troops on a daily basis since the War on Terror started (some even earlier), and will continue to do so as long as there are American service members serving anywhere in the world. Wonderfully dedicated groups such as Treat the Troops, Give 2 The Troops and Operation Gratitude have sent many millions of cookies, jelly beans, items and letters through their care packages for several years, and welcome donations and volunteers on a year-round basis to sustain their missions. One time massive efforts are an important show of support, but please let us not forget the troops tomorrow — they will still be in harm’s way!
Editor —
Thanks for the links; they are wonderful programs.
One clarification though. It was Move America Forward that organized this effort and they have been continuous in that regard; this was not a “one day” event. In fact, it was the largest, one day collection of care packages in history (we believe).
We will keep at it and we know you will as well.
we sponsored the $499 package.
Editor — Thank you so much. I have shared that information with Michelle Malkin and Melanie Morgan.
